Starter Bays and Add On Bays

 Always begin with a Starter Bay (2 blue uprights). You can then attach an Add On bay (one upright only) or multiple addon bays to form a connected row of shelving (see image below).

Firstly, set out below are the dimensions of our standard, longspan bays. 

    Height - The upright frames come in standard heights of 2.0m, 2.4m and 2.7m.

    Width or Bay Length Range - We have units that are: 1.0m, 1.5m. 2.0m and 2.5m in length.

    Depth - Our metal shelving units come in 2 depths: 0.6m (600mm) deep and 0.5m (500mm) deep

    Load Capacity

    The weight rating (e.g. 300Kg/L) refers to the load capacity of a shelf in terms of its ability to carry a uniformly distributed load (UDL). Importantly, all units with a similar weight rating are inter-connectable.

    In our range, we have units with weight ratings of 300Kg, 200Kg, 150Kg and 120Kg per level.

    Shelf Materials

    We have shelves or decks that are made from powder coated, cold-rolled steel rather than mesh decks or galvanised panels.

    Robust Storage Capacity

    All our long span shelving systems are built from industrial quality steel and powder coated for durability. The deck panels are made from reinforced steel rather than being mesh decks, timber or particle board for heavy duty applications.

    Our metal shelving comes in two, standard colours: tri-colour (orange, blue and white) or off-white.

    The longspan shelving bays are supplied with 4 tiers or shelves as standard, but you can have as many levels as you like. Buy an extra shelf level,  if you need to expand to 5 tiers. Alternatively, you can build your unit from components if you need to configure 2 or 3 levels of shelving.

    Easy to Assemble and Setup

    All the shelves are adjustable, so you can easily elevate them to whatever height you need.

    The metal shelving units have a boltless design and are easy to install without any tools, screws, bolts or accessories like a mounting bracket. The orange beams slide into grooves on the outside of the blue uprights and the white decks simply slot onto a slim ledge on the inside of the beams.

    Our metal shelving units are easy to adjust to any configuration you require. So you can maximise the capacity of your floor space or reconfigure as your storage needs change.

    The uprights have pre-drilled base plates that enable the unit to be fastened to the floor for added security and stability. Also they can be fastened to the wall for a robust shelving solution.

    As well as being easy to assemble, the units are also easy to disassemble, flat pack for transport and setup again, if you or your business need to move.

    Adjustable Shelf Levels

    The shelves are fully adjustable up and down. So you can have a larger gap for bulky, heavier items at the bottom and a narrower gap for smaller, lighter items at the top.

    Our 0.6m deep, 300Kg/ level, longspan shelving system is a highly versatile shelving system. It is completely modular system of longspan shelving and workbenches that offers easy assembly, easy shelf height adjustment. In addition:

    • The range is compatible with our range of heavy duty workbenches and tyre racking - they can all be connected together.
